Handing the phone over to an AI assistant is something many restaurant owners think about. The real question that holds them back is: « what if I lose control? My menu changes, my hours shift, I get slammed during service — will I still be the one deciding what gets said on the phone? »
That is exactly why MAIA is not a black box. Behind the assistant, you have a dashboard — your customer area — from which you run everything, live, without calling us and without waiting. Here is exactly what you control.
Your menu, editable to the minute
The first instinct of a cautious restaurant owner: « will MAIA announce a dish I no longer serve, or an old price? »
No — because the menu MAIA knows is the one you maintain. From the dashboard, you add a dish, change a price, write out the ingredients or mark an item as out of stock. The change is applied instantly: from the very next call, MAIA announces the right menu and the right price.

You decide when MAIA takes orders
An assistant taking orders at 3 a.m. or on your day off makes no sense. You set the rules.
In the dashboard, you define your order-taking windows, by service and by day: lunch, dinner, open on Tuesday but not Monday, last pickup at 9:15 p.m.… Outside these windows, MAIA does not take orders: it politely explains that it's not possible at the moment and tells the customer when to call back.
Need to test the assistant on a Sunday when you're closed? Widen a window for two minutes, run your test, then set it back the way it was. Everything is reversible, right away.
Never exceed your kitchen's capacity
Every service's nightmare: fifteen orders landing on the same time slot.
You set a capacity per time slot — for example 8 pizzas and 5 dishes every 15 minutes, separately for lunch and dinner. When a slot is full, MAIA knows it and spontaneously offers the customer the next slot, without ever overloading your oven or your kitchen.
And for a specific evening (dining room already full, reduced staff), you can prepare the service in advance: reduce the capacity, block certain slots or shut down a service entirely for a given date — without touching your usual schedule.
Highlight a dish to sell more
A good server always suggests the homemade dessert. So does MAIA.
You choose an item to highlight — a homemade tiramisu, a special of the moment, the chef's suggestion. MAIA offers it on every order, at the right moment. It's an automatic increase in average basket size, effortlessly, exactly like a server who knows the room.
You also enter the daily special for each day of the week: MAIA announces it to customers who ask, every day, without you having to think about it again.
All your orders, live in front of you
You don't discover the orders at the end of service: you watch them come in.
Every order taken by MAIA appears instantly in the dashboard: customer name, pickup time, item details, total. You follow the pace of service in real time, you tick off what's ready, and nothing gets lost between two rushes.
You can also pull up the history of previous days and, if needed, add an order by hand — the assistant and you work from the same board.
What you do NOT have to do
The dashboard is designed for a busy restaurant owner, not for an IT specialist. There's nothing to install, no software to learn, no code to touch.
| Before | With the MAIA dashboard | |
|---|---|---|
| Change a price | Call the provider, wait | Live, yourself, in 10 s |
| Mark as out of stock | Impossible, or too late | One click, MAIA stops offering it |
| Change the hours | Support ticket | You set them by service and by day |
| See the orders | Sticky notes, memory, missed calls | In real time, with the details |
Frequently asked questions
Are my changes really applied right away?▼
Yes. As soon as you edit the menu, a price, a suggestion or your hours in the dashboard, the assistant takes it into account on the phone immediately, with no delay and no action needed on our end.
Do I need technical skills?▼
No. The dashboard works like a regular app: fields, buttons, switches. If you can fill in a form, you can run MAIA.
Can I turn off the assistant during a big rush?▼
Yes. You can turn off order-taking in a single tap: MAIA keeps giving customers information (hours, details) and transferring urgent calls, but stops noting orders while the kitchen gets back on track.
Can MAIA suggest a dish to increase the basket?▼
Yes, that's the point of the « highlight » feature: you choose an item (homemade dessert, special of the moment) and MAIA offers it on every order, like a good server.
And if a slot is already full?▼
MAIA knows your capacity per slot and per service. When it's full, it spontaneously offers the customer the next slot — never any overbooking of your kitchen.
You stay in control, MAIA does the rest
An AI phone assistant is only worth it if it stays your assistant: one that says what you want, when you want, at the price you set. That's the whole point of the dashboard — you're not delegating control, you're delegating the time lost picking up the phone.
Menu updated to the minute, hours under control, suggestions that drive sales, orders in real time: you stay the boss, MAIA just answers the phone for you.
